AVAILABILITY

Available to customers located on the Borough’s distribution lines and desiring service for household and other related using in single private dwelling, or an individual dwelling unit in a multiple dwelling structure, and its appurtenant detached buildings.

CHARACTER OF SERVICE

Alternating current, nominal frequency 60 hertz (cycles per second). Single phase: 120 volts, 2 wire; 120/208 volts, 3 wire; 120/240 volts, 3 wire; and three (3) phase: 120/240 volts, 4 wire pr 120/208 volts, 4 wire.

BILLING

Charges are computed and billed bi-monthly for service taken.

MONTHLY RATE

Customer Charge............................... $6.50

Energy Charge: All KWH……..…$0.15287/KWH

The Adjustment Clause shall be applied to all KWH supplied under this rate.

MINIMUM MONTHLY CHARGE

The minimum monthly charge shall be an amount equal to the customer charge but not less than six ($6.50) dollars.

PAYMENT TERMS

Bills are due and payable when rendered. If unpaid at the end of twenty-five (25) days, the Board of Public Works reserves the right to terminate service following suitable written notice.

SPECIAL PROVISIONS

Owners of record of property within the Borough of Park Ridge shall not be required to pay a deposit. All others shall be required to pay a deposit based upon estimated bills which would accrue for two and one-half month’s service. The board of Public Works shall have the right to increase the amount of a deposit if in its judgment such action is necessary.

AVAILABILITY

This service is available to nonresidential customers located on the Borough's distribution lines desiring electric service for general lighting and/or power service and whose annual average billing demand is not more than 100 KW. All such service shall be taken through one meter.

CHARACTER OF SERVICE

Alternating current, 60 cycle . Single phase: 120/240 volts, 3 wire ; and three phase: 120/240 volts, 4 wire; 240 volts, 3 wire; or 120/208 volts, 4 wire and where existing facilities permit, 277/480 volts, 4 wire may be supplied.

BILLING

Charges are computed and billed on a monthly basis with monthly payments for service taken.

MONTHLY RATE

The customer’s monthly bill shall be the sum of the demand and energy charges.

Customer Charge: including first 3 KW demand ..... $29.25

Demand Charge: All KW above 3 KW demand...... $14.43/KW

Energy Charge: All KWH ......................................... $0.12643/KWH

The Adjustment Clause shall be applied to all KWH supplied under this rate.

MINIMUM MONTHLY CHARGE

The minimum monthly charge shall be an amount equal to the customer charge but not less than twenty-seven ($29.25) dollars.

DETERMINATION OF DEMAND

The Demand will be determined at the option of the Board of Public Works by estimate or by test at the time of maximum use or by Demand meter measurement. When measured by indicating meters the Demand shall be the highest fifteen (15) minute Demand in kilowatts used during the month.

Bills are due and payable when rendered. If unpaid at the end of twenty-five (25) days, the Board of Public Works reserves the right to terminate service following suitable written notice.

(1) Owners of record of property within the Borough of Park Ridge shall not be required to pay a deposit. All others shall be required to pay a deposit based upon at least two and a half times the estimated monthly bill. In no case shall the deposit be less than 300.00.

EFFECTIVE: May 1, 2022

A power adjustment (PA) shall be applied to each kilowatt-hour (KWH) supplied under all rate schedules. This PA shall be determined by the Borough of Park Ridge Board of Public Works. The PA shall be determined to the nearest $0.000001. It shall be determined on an annual basis, but may be revised periodically during the course of the year by the Board of Public Works upon showing of good cause.

Effective May 1, 2022 the Power Adjustment Rate is $0.00650 (per KWH)

This rate is available for private, non-municipal street, bridge, parks and outdoor lighting in the entire territory served by the borough.

EFFECTIVE: May 1, 2022

APPLICABILITY

This rate shall be applicable to the use of service for private residential purposes when the following criteria and conditions are met:

(1)  Senior Citizens: Customers may be at least 65 years of age; or

(2)  Lifeline: Customer must be listed on the Schedule of eligible customers established by the Commissioner of the Department of Human Services pursuant to N.J.S.A. 48: 2-29.16; or;

(3)  Disability: Customer must present a physician’s certificate verifying customer’s permanent and total disability or a copy of the Social Security Award Certificate formNo. SS A-30 to demonstrate disability;

(4)  A customer who satisfies the criteria of subsection (1), (2) or (3) above and who meets all of the conditions of this subsection (4) shall be eligible for the appropriate rate.

(A)  Customer must have an income not to exceed the State of New Jersey tax-exemption qualification level from all sources, taxable and non-taxable, but not including Social Security and

(B)  Total Income of all persons who reside in customer’s household from all sources, taxable and non-taxable, including Social Security shall not exceed Six Thousand ($6,000) Dollars per annum; more than the total allowed by the State Lifeline Program.

(5)  Borough Tax Collector shall be the enforcing agent and shall annually certify those residents eligible for the Senior Citizens, Lifeline and Disability Rate; and

(6)  The rate shall be effective only upon application to and approval by the Borough Tax Collector in its sole and complete discretion as to qualification here under.

(7)  Any of the above limits and qualifications may be modified or changed by proper resolution of the Board of Public Works on a showing of good cause.
