4th Quarter 2024 Repeat Public Notice for PFOA MCL Exceedance Wells 12, 14, 18, 19

You are receiving this Repeat letter as a requirement of the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) Tier 2 Public notice regulation.

As indicated in previous notifications, the sample results from the 1st quarter 2024 from TP021047 (Well 19) indicated an exceedance of the maximum contaminant level (MCL) for Perfluorooctanesulfonic Acid (PFOS), which is regulated by the NJDEP. Park Ridge has removed this well from service for evaluation and will be pursuing the necessary treatment.

Customers continue to be informed that three other groundwater wells (Wells 12, 14, 18) exceeded the MCL for PFOA in November 2021. Additionally, customers were informed that these wells were removed from service at that time. One remains offline, and the other two have had temporary treatment installed and placed in service.

Even though untreated water from these three wells are not provided to customers, the NJDEP requires us to send a public notice to all of our water customers every 3 months until permanent treatment for PFOA and PFOS has been installed at these wells and the water system has returned into compliance with the MCL.

We are continuing to work through efficient permanent treatment design and pursuing the necessary
funding.
