June is Pride Month: LGBTQ+ Reading Recommendations from Diversity & Inclusion Committee

It's June, which means it's time to celebrate Pride month with the LGBTQ+ community!

Below is a sample of books/audio books available through the Park Ridge Library and the Bergen County Cooperative Library System (BCCLS). We divided these books into nonfiction, fiction, historical fiction, and fantasy/mythology categories. Within these categories you'll find a variety of genres, topics, and voices.

Reading is, if nothing else, an innate act of empathy; of putting yourself, however temporarily, in another person's shoes. Whether you are a member of the LGBTQ+ community, would like to become more familiar with queer art, or simply enjoy a great read, we encourage you to check these out. The list below is by no means exhaustive, instead offering merely a sampling of some exciting and compelling reading material being published by LGBTQ+ authors.

Happy Pride!
