Meet The Summer Camp Director 2023

Hello!

My name is James Hegybeli and I am currently a teacher at East Brook Elementary school in Park Ridge. I was a teacher in Kearny and then Paterson for the past 7 years before making my way up north to become an owl. My educational background stems from Seton Hall University where I earned a bachelor's degree in special and elementary education. I then received a masters in education from William Paterson University and am currently continuing my educational journey by pursuing my doctoral degree in educational leadership. One of my biggest hobbies is sports and I am very passionate about athletics. I was an assistant varsity baseball and football coach at Fair Lawn High School for the past four years. As for summer camp, I was the director of recreational operations in Radburn of Fair Lawn for five years. Before then, I also served as the assistant director and a supervisor of the camp. I want to express how excited I am to be in Park Ridge. It was apparent to me from the moment I got here how important community and togetherness means to this town. I look forward to working with all of you and creating a summer program that children will enjoy for years to come. Let’s have a great summer!
