Bias crimes also known as hate crimes, is a crime committed against a person, property, or society that is motivated, in whole or in part, by the offender's bias against a race, religion, disability, sexual orientation, or ethnicity/national origin.

All officers within the Park Ridge Police Department when called to the scene of a bias crime will conduct a full investigation of the incident.  A report and photos of the scene when needed will be taken.  All persons involved will be interviewed and when evidence of a crime is observed and the offender is identified arrests will be made.
