The Park Ridge Rotary Club and Halfway Hounds, a Park Ridge based canine shelter organization, are jointly sponsoring their Fifth Annual 5K Run/Walk on Sunday, September 17, rain or shine, at the Park Ridge Municipal Pool. The event starts at 10a.m., and registration begins at 9a.m.
Maria Milito of radio’s Q104.3 will be back to emcee this fun-filled community event. Participants and spectators alike will enjoy music by DJ Tom Chapman, free stretching provided by Montvale Spine and Health Center, light refreshments and much more.
All proceeds will benefit charities, projects and scholarships that Rotary supports, and will assist Halfway Hounds in giving adoptable dogs a new “leash” on life with grooming, training rehabilitation, and temporary homes. There is no additional charge to participate with a dog; however, all dogs must have rabies vaccination paperwork the day of the event.
Participants are encouraged to register early online at http://bit.ly/PRR-HH5k. A downloadable registration form that can be printed and mailed can be found on either the Park Ridge Rotary or Halfway Hounds websites. Sponsorship opportunities are still available. Interested parties may contact Linda Hanlon at201-819-8281.
