Our 2014 Calendar of Events is ready. Here it is (below). Please save it so that
you and your family can take advantage of these terrific programs. This is our “initial”
calendar. No doubt, we will add some other things throughout the year and will
advise you by email when we do.
This is New Jersey’s 350 th Anniversary Year. We will be starting the celebratory year
with a very special event on
February 16. Michael Nevins, M.D. will be speaking (see program).
If you have never heard him speak, you are short changing yourself. One of our most popular speakers,
Dr. Nevins educates and entertains with his remarkable research and unusual medical subjects.
The same day,
February 16, from 1 to 4 p.m., we will be debuting the first of our 350thanniversary year events.
Five of our PHS volunteer ”TEEN HISTORIANS”will be docents for their new display-
“NEW JERSEY-IN THE BEGINNING” ( 1664-2014)
Lydon Kersting, Senior-Academy of the Holy Angels
Will Wise, Junior-Park Ridge High School
Ariana Aguero, Freshman- Pascack Valley High school
Abbie Martin, Junior- Immaculate Heart Academy
Grace Martin, Senior- Immaculate Heart Academy
The display contains five artifacts from our collection that date back to the 1600s. Each student has “adopted” one of the items and
will be able to tell you about them and answer questions you might have about their history and provenance.
Both events are, of course, free. Homemade coffee and cake will be served!
Hope to see you soon.
Best wishes and thanks from the PHS Board of Trustees and Volunteers
