DOG AND CAT LICENSING INFORMATION
Borough Code Chapter 52:
Any person who shall own, keep or harbor a dog of licensing age shall, in the month of January of each year and annually thereafter, apply for and procure from the Borough Clerk a license and official metal registration tag for each such dog so owned, kept or harbored, and shall place upon each such dog a collar or harness with the registration tag securely fastened thereto.
Licenses are required for all cats and dogs seven months of age or older. Licenses can be acquired at the Borough Hall. The license fees are:
DOG:
$7.00 if Spayed or Neutered (proof is required)
$10.00 Unspayed or Unneutered
CAT:
$7.00 if Spayed or Neutered (proof is required)
$10.00 Unspayed or Unneutered
SENIOR CITIZENS (62 YEARS OR OLDER) CAN APPLY FOR A DOG OR CAT LICENSE FOR A FEE OF $1.00
Proof of recent rabies vaccination is required along with proof of spaying or neutering if applicable.
DOG/CAT LICENSE RENEWALS
LICENSES ARE RENEWED DURING THE MONTH OF JANUARY. RENEWAL NOTICES ARE SENT OUT IN DECEMBER. THE LAST DAY TO RENEW A LICENSE IS FEBRUARY 28TH. ANY RENEWAL AFTER THAT DATE WILL BE CHARGED A $10.00 LATE FEE.
