March 15, 2016 , Park Ridge, NJ—A visit to the free admission, barrier-free Pascack Historical Society (PHS) Museum at 19 Ridge Avenue, Park Ridge , should be on every parent’s “to do” list. The historic 1873 museum building is open Wednesdays 10-noon and Sundays, 1-4 p.m.
Here is a place that will tell your children the story of their Pascack Valley hometown from dinosaur days to Lenape Indian days to the present day. Children can sit in a real sleigh drawn by a life size wooden horse, hear music on a 1923 wind- up Victrola, pump the pedals and hear an 1890 player piano, touch real dinosaur gizzard balls found in our area, learn about what the Pascack Valley sent on the Lewis and Clark Expedition and play with old time games.
Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
