Mayor’s Update – Wednesday 10/31/12 5pm
Although the storm has passed, hazardous conditions still exist on many streets in the Boro. Residents are asked to use extreme caution if walking or venturing outside as there are still electric wires on the ground that may be live.
Our electric and DPW crews have made significant progress again today but still have over one hundred residents without power. Our electric department is currently focused on 3 remaining large major neighborhood service outages as well as individual home repairs. The electric department has prioritized these areas to restore as many customers as quickly as possible. All crews have been deployed and will be working well into the night …Unfortunately we currently do not have a schedule for full restoral of electric service in the boro but expect to restore service to remaining homes in a matter of days. This storm has been a trying time and we recognize the impact of not having electric service. Our electric department is working as quickly as possible to restore service.
Due to the storm we are also experiencing telephone service disruptions at Boro Hall. We ask that if you need to report a service outage to please call 201-391-5673 or if you have email access, please report service outages to firstname.lastname@example.org .
Thank you for your patience and please be safe.
